MODULAR PALLET RACKING FOR CUSTOMISED SOLUTIONS

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Quick and easy to set up thanks to the simple hook-in installation of the beams
  • Customisation allows for optimised warehouse logistics and use of storage space
  • Flexible use of shelving thanks to system accessories, facilitating storage of flat pallets, pallet cages or other loading equipment

5 steps for selecting the right frames and beams

1. Determine the shelf load

= Sum of the weight of all pallets for each beam level if the load is uniformly distributed

Prerequisite: Pallet dimensions of 800 mm (width) x 1,200 mm (depth) with sufficient load-bearing capacity

2. Determine the bay load

= Sum of all shelf loads (only of the beam levels) for each shelf bay

Warning: The sum of all shelf loads may not exceed the permitted bay load.

3. Determine the shelf heights

= Sum of the height of the stored item (H) + vertical clearance of each level of shelving (Y) + beam height (=bottom edge of the pallet to the top edge of the beam, rounded up to 50 mm)

4. Determine the number of
shelving levels

= Sum of the base level + beam levels

Warning: Remember to take the lift height of your industrial vehicle into account (last shelving level + 200 mm = minimum lift height)

Planning dimensions:

in line with the DIN EN 15620:2021 standard

  • The horizontal clearance, ‘X’, depends on the top level of the shelving
  • The vertical clearance, ‘Y’, must be calculated separately for each shelving level based on its height
  • You can determine the frame type, ‘S’, based on the load table for frame types

5. Determine your frame type

You can find your frame type in the load table in our (online) catalogue

Technical provisions

+

The external uprights along aisles and traffic routes must be at least 500 mm higher than the highest level of storage in order to protect the corridors from items that might potentially fall from the racks

+

Passageways via overhangs must include a closed level (such as gratings (C), layers of wire mesh (D) or chipboard (E)).

+Overhead clearance must be at least 2,200 mm
+If the distance between the pallets in double shelving is less than 100 mm, the shelving must be equipped with push-through protection (F).
+External uprights and passageways must be equipped with impact protection (B) in accordance with the German Social Accident Insurance Regulation DGUV 108-007 (BGR 234).
+Free-standing single shelving units and single shelving units bordering on traffic zones must have a grille on the back (G) to prevent the stored items from falling out.
+Concrete grade: at least C 20/25 in line with the DIN EN 206-1 standard (DIN 1045-2); concrete thickness: at least 200 mm.
+A weight load notice (H) must be affixed to each shelving system.
+The information only applies to uniformly distributed loads.
+If the top edge of the stored items exceeds 7,500 mm, the warehouse operator must observe the applicable building codes of the individual German state in which the warehouse is located.
+All load specifications only apply to shelves installed indoors. Earthquake loads, wind loads and snow loads are not included, and information regarding these loads must be requested separately.
