This is how optimal warehouse planning works.

We shelve it right!

So much more than just a comparison price.

The best collaboration begins with clarity and transparency. When SCHULTE received the tender documents for a warehouse project at HBOD, it quickly became clear that there was much more to be done.

Customer: HBOD
E-Commerce Fulfilment

HBOD is a service provider for e-commerce and marketplace trading that handles the complete online distribution for brands via European marketplaces such as Amazon or Zalando.

The company offers in particular multichannel online distribution as a full service, including listing creation, onboarding, marketing, warehouse logistics, shipping, returns processing and reporting.

Its target customers are manufacturers and brands that want to sell their products quickly and efficiently on several marketplaces without having to set up their own complex distribution and fulfilment structures.

The task

Planning and organisation of a heterogeneous parts warehouse

The task:As a multi-channel online distributor, HBOD brings brands such as Schiesser and Mey to digital marketplaces.

High throughput, fast picking times, many returns. The requirements for the new warehouse were therefore highly complex: a heterogeneous parts warehouse that accommodates a wide variety of compartment types, from hanging garments to small parts.

The planning was carried out by an external planning office and two competitors were already suppliers to the customer HBOD.

However, when the tender documents arrived at SCHULTE, it quickly became clear that the initial planning was not economical enough.

SCHULTE did not want a project that was only about price, but a solution that offered significantly more advantages for HBOD.

HBOD gave SCHULTE the "last call":

Put out to tender again, this time SCHULTE was to help determine the technical data. Steffen Kemna took over the project management and developed an updated tender together with the planning company and the customer.

A special challenge:
More capacity in a limited space. Flexible, different types of goods, optimised processes.

Customer benefits

Significantly more benefits for HBDO thanks to SCHULTE's extensive planning experience.

Solution 01:
Optimally utilised storage space ...

The standard 1,300 mm wide shelves would have been a waste of space with the HBOD storage containers of 300 or 400 mm width. With SCHULTE special shelves of 1,210 mm width, 2.90 metres were gained across the entire shelving system - a big difference with 29 shelves!

Solution 02:
More usable storage space ...

SCHULTE was also able to score with a proven unique selling point in terms of shelf height: The 25 mm MULTIplus shelf has been a SCHULTE trademark since 2003 and offers significantly more space in height and more flexibility during storage than the usual 40 mm high edges. The competition could not deliverthis

Solution 03:
More stability ...

Due to the weight of hanging goods, which are stored in the centre section of conventional shelving, the shelf supports are at risk of buckling. Thanks to their stability, SCHULTE shelving offers flexible storage space, even for hanging goods.

Project story

Expertise is evident in the details.

The decisive moment came in the meeting with HBOD. Steffen Kemna not only presented the planning - he showed what SCHULTE does differently: special dimensions for optimum space utilisation. Shelves that can be flexibly adapted. Clothes rails that can be used variably. Colours according to corporate identity. Solutions proactively developed by SCHULTE without being required in the tender.

And so a project turned into a partnership, as HBOD has already ordered more shelving technology from SCHULTE.

A partner who thinks along with you is more important than one who just delivers. This is good proof that true partnership is based on trust and problem-solving expertise.

"We are extremely satisfied with both the entire project process and the end result and can recommend Schulte without reservation as a reliable and competent partner."- Timo Hage, Managing Director HBOD

Conclusion:
Punctual commissioning of the warehouse with high customer satisfaction.
