The question: Can SCHULTE also impress in a highly competitive market?

As one of the two large purchasing associations in the PVH* in Germany, NORDWEST stands for a dense network of specialised dealers - and SCHULTE has been one of the premium suppliers for years.

The new construction of the central warehouse in Alsfeld is a different dimension: 1.5 million euros project volume for the pallet warehouse. International invitation to tender.

The answer is given at the topping-out ceremony on 23 September 2025:
SCHULTE is awarded the contract.

Production connection trade.
Specialised form of wholesale trade (B2B) that brokers goods between production stages.

"It is an important signal for us that we were able to assert ourselves in an international competitive environment," explains Andrea Schulte. "This shows the high level of expertise of our team, especially in the planning and realisation of complex projects. "

The facility in Alsfeld is impressive: 68,000 square metres of hall space. Over 35,000 pallet bays. If you were to line up all the pallet racks, you would get over 3.3 kilometres. There are also areas for lithium-ion batteries, aerosols and flammable liquids - each with special requirements.

Special challenge:
Delivery of the pallet racks within the shortest possible time thanks to 4 production lines and high stock levels.

Customer benefits

Smooth project flow thanks to SCHULTE's extensive experience with major projects.

More fire protection for pallet racking

The insertion of shelves and side walls in pallet racks creates a closed rack structure which, in combination with an integrated extinguishing system, significantly improves fire protection in the logistics warehouse, as fire and smoke can be contained in a targeted manner and extinguishing agents can be used effectively directly at the source of the fire.

Project story

The right solution at the right moment.

Bastian Wolfgarten, Head of Logistics at NORDWEST, confirms this:

"We've only heard positive things from SCHULTE so far. All outstanding issues were resolved in an uncomplicated and professional manner."

Anyone who has ever supervised a construction project knows that what works on paper often has to be readjusted in reality. Room heights change. Access widths have to be adapted. In Alsfeld, the halls are handed over successively, so planning and assembly have to be synchronised again and again.

This shows what initiative means:
Finding the right solution at the right moment. Thinking along instead of just working away. The company's own senior fitter is on site and the responsible project engineer is regularly present on the construction site. Short distances, quick decisions.

"We feel that SCHULTE works exclusively with its own resources and therefore guarantees maximum flexibility in planning, delivery and construction site support."

A decisive advantage SCHULTE has four shelving lines, more than any other supplier in Germany. Around 7,000 items are always in stock. When things need to move quickly, SCHULTE can react. For the entire NORDWEST dealer network, it is clear that SCHULTE can also deliver on a large scale.

In the end, it is less the size of a project that counts than the way in which it was realised. With flexibility where it was needed. With reliability where it was expected. And with the attitude that has characterised SCHULTE for decades: working at eye level, thinking along and delivering.

"In SCHULTE, we found a partner with the necessary experience, reliability and flexibility to successfully realise a central component of our new construction project."

Conclusion:
Punctual commissioning of the warehouse with high customer satisfaction.
